2011 Mud Sale Season

The Lancaster County 2011 Mud Sale season is almost upon us.   If you are not familiar with mud sales many of the Lancaster County villages hold fund raising auctions in the late winter to support the local volunteer fire companies.  The name 'mud sale' comes from the eventual muddy ground that the auction is held upon and trust us when we say "bring your boots"!  The last Saturday of February is the kickoff of the Lancaster County Mud Sale Season and it starts at the Strasburg Fire Company in the village of Strasburg! The donation and consignment sale begins at 8:00 AM and runs all day.   Items to be sold include: Quilts, Crafts, Furniture, Farm Equipment, Horses, Yard Equipment, Bicycles, Misc. Stuff, Building Equipment, and much, much more!  And another treat - The Food Services Committee will have lots of good food available.  This year the Strasburg 35'th Annual Spring Sale is on Saturday February 26, 2011 at 08:30 am.  So come on out to the country for the weekend, make a reservation at one of the fabulous inns of the Lancaster County Bed and Breakfast Inns Association and enjoy yourself!  One warning - you'll probably end up buying a quilt!
