Wineries in Lancaster County PA

Wine making is an art that Lancaster County truly embraces. From sweet to dry, the wineries create masterpieces to please everyone's palates. Because there are so many vineyards to visit in PA Dutch Country, I suggest taking a mini road trip along a personalized wine trail. Choose wineries to visit during the day, before spending each night being pampered in a different bed and breakfast. With Pennsylvania ranked 7th, as the state with most wineries, and 4th with the most bed and breakfasts, it’s only natural to make a weekend getaway combining these abundant attractions. Using the following information and an interactive map from the Lancaster County Bed and Breakfast Inns Association, you’ll have your trip planned in no time!

Some wineries stick to their roots and focus strictly on wine tasting and sales, while others offer tours and host seasonal events. Kog Hill Winery and Waltz Vineyards have shops and wine bars. There’s more to see at Mount Hope Wine Gallery and Nissley Vineyards. In addition to the wine shop and tastings, Mount Hope has a gift shop of gourmet foods and kitchenware, and shares a building with the Lancaster Beer Gallery. Their tastings include local meats and cheeses, and you also have the opportunity to sample beer while you’re there. Nissley Vineyards has music fests and is participating in the Passport to Rivertown 2012. This celebration allows you to visit different destinations and receive discounts on purchases and tours.

Tamamend Winery hosts Wine and Music Thursdays, the perfect way to start your weekend early! Moon Dancer Vineyards overlooks the Susquehanna River, making it the perfect location for festivals. In February they are hosting a chili cook-off and every week during winter they have live music by the fireside. To benefit the American Cancer Society, they are hosting a Mid-Winter Tropical Day to bring sunshine to these cold months.

Start planning your trip today, as you don’t want to miss out on the upcoming festivities. We look forward to seeing you soon and hearing about the adventures along your wine trail!
